NOMADIC TENDENCIES FILM FESTIVAL EXPLORES ALTERNATIVE VENUES
August 20, 2010

St Petersburg, FL — Nomadic Tendencies announces six venues for the upcoming 10-Day film festival ranging from the tradition, Downtown St Pete’s Muvico Baywalk 20 and St Pete Beach’s art house theater, Beach Theatre, to the Dali Museum for a touch of the surreal and USF St Pete at the Community Activities Center to help ensure a cultural bond between the university and the community, and the organically hippie-fied Blueberry Patch in Gulfport and then back over to ArtOn! Central in the 600 block of Downtown St Pete for the experimental, avant-garde, musically-inclined and artsy films… not be outdone by but rather to be stoically followed up by original and clever Meek on the Prowl; an adventurous journey around the downtown St Pete area exploring artistic and avant-garde films to be screened on 25 found locations over a three-day period. A predetermined route will be posted on the website and all are welcome to join us in this amazing experimental exhibition brought to you by David Meek.

“Not all films are best viewed at a traditional venue. It is a festival goal to find the right locations for both the films and its potential audience. Art films are better off in art-centered establishments while mainstream films are an easy fit for more traditional movie houses.” explains Festival Director, Christine Scott.

All venues and locations can be found at Nomadic-Tendencies.com. All venues are open to everyone. The Blueberry Patch, Arton! Central, Meek on the Prowl and USF St Pete’s Community Activity Center are all FREE screenings. The Dali screening requires either a Festival pass or a Museum pass for entry. Festival Pass and ticket prices for Muvico Baywalk 20 and the Beach Theatre are as follows: 10-Day All-Inclusive Festival Passes start at $60 for Earlybird and are $100 day-of-event. Single tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors/students/military. Volunteers are needed! For more infomation, please call 727-280-3806 or email us at info@nomadic-tendencies.com.
