NTFF Reaches Out to Homeschoolers

NOMADIC TENDENCIES FILM FESTIVAL REACHES OUT TO HOMESCHOOLERS
Nomadic Tendencies Film Festival sends a shoutout to all homeschooled children in St Petersburg and the surrounding area.

August 25, 2010

ST PETERSBURG, FL — With the high number of homeschooled children receiving their education throughout St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas Nomadic Tendencies Film Festival understands the importance of community support and access. The film festival is offering each homeschooled student free admission on a space available basis. The festival recommends arriving at least 20 minutes early to be added to the wait list for the each film homeschoolers are interested in attending. Available seats will be offered to homeschoolers free of charge to help support cultural and educational opportunities to our homeschooled residence.

Festival Director, Christine Scott, explains the reason for the initiative and history on how it came about, “My daughter was homeschooled for much of her K-12 education. Finding different, enlightening, educational and cultural events and activities during the week was always on our agenda. It is a pleasure and honor to offer our program to this dynamic group of learners. Unschoolers may find this a particularly strong fit for their style of learning.” Scott notes that not all film selections are appropriate for all ages and encourages parents and guardians to consider each film for content before attending.
