Long Synopsis
In a post-Communist city in Romania, five twentysomethings create a different layer of existence through friendship, drugs, sex and philosophical psychosis. They are addicted to each other and connected through a pathological friendship that ultimately brings their release and transcendence. Everyday existence is filled with an atmosphere of delirium – philosophical wandering, sexual ambiguity and most importantly, role playing.

The film is a portrait of a Romanian lost generation who work hard at succeeding ‘pour epater la bourgeoisie.’ This they accomplish with scatological and sexual abandon. The first scenes show them in a claustrophobic student hovel entertaining each other through spontaneous utterances only possible by post adolescents with no outside censors and no outside influences to control their verbiage.

The world is predicated on the idea that the outside world is contemptible, inhuman and hypocritical. They create a palisade of resistance against time and society, knowing full well that the end of their struggle is loss. This of course is the theme song of young bohemians in and out of Eastern Europe. Among them is the young woman called Yumi whose deep laughter is filled with wonder, fear, eclairisment and irony. She understands the future demise of the group and the individual pleasures of the everlasting now. She like the film in general encapsulate the heart of this tough and honest world of lost and confused vitality.
